MOBILE AND FLEXIBLE

  • Mobile IBA processing concept

REMEX offers a mobile processing option for the treatment of incinerator bottom ash (IBA). The solution is based on a modular plant concept that allows the system to be transported, installed and commissioned within a short time. All components are designed as separate modules that can be easily combined and operated at a dedicated site, for example directly at a Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plant or at a temporary treatment location.

Mobile plant configuration

Sieving: material classification
The combined feeding and sieving unit forms the starting point of the mobile IBA processing plant. Bottom ash is separated into defined grain size fractions, enabling targeted downstream treatment and improving overall process efficiency.

Drum and eddy current: combined metal recovery
This unit combines drum magnet separation and eddy current technology to recover both ferrous and non-ferrous metals from the material stream. The system ensures efficient metal recovery across different grain sizes.

Eddy current and airknife: optimised non-ferrous separation
In this unit, eddy current separation is supported by an airknife system that removes light materials such as plastics before the separation process. This improves the recovery of non-ferrous metals and the quality of the remaining mineral fraction.

Overband magnet: continuous ferrous separation
Overband magnets are installed above conveyor belts to remove ferrous metals from the material flow. This ensures reliable iron recovery and protects downstream processing equipment.

Manual sorting: coarse material recovery
The manual sorting station is used for the control of coarse material fractions. Impurities are removed and valuable are separated, ensuring maximum recovery and additional quality control.

  • Similar to a stationary processing plant, the mobile facility integrates the key technologies required for IBA treatment. All modules are designed to work together perfectly in terms of capacity, size and efficiency.

Flexible solutions for circular resource recovery

Flexible deployment

The modular design allows the mobile plant to be installed wherever treatment capacity is required. Possible deployment locations include:

Waste-to-Energy plants

Landfill sites

Temporary waste treatment locations

This flexibility enables efficient resource recovery even where the installation of permanent treatment plants is currently not possible or uneconomical, or where existing plants need to be improved in regard to recovery rates or capacity.

Contribution to circularity

By recovering ferrous and non-ferrous metals and mineral fractions from bottom ash, mobile processing or a combination of stationary and mobile processing contribute to reducing landfill volumes and conserving natural resources. The mineral fraction is upgraded for full recovery in construction, while recycled metals are returned in optimum quality to the metal market.
