Construction projects are as individual as the clients and investors who define the framework parameters. Project implementation on the construction site involves constant change and requires flexibility. In order to guarantee efficient processes, construction and demolition waste (CDM waste) must be removed quickly and safely. Through close cooperation with the customer, REMEX ensures reliable handling of soil and CDM waste that meets the requirements of the construction schedule. Our waste disposal services and the use of our mineral waste treatment plants thus create both ecologically and economically sustainable solutions for efficient recycling of minerals.
Construction waste arises during demolition or dismantling, new construction or expansion of buildings, roads or infrastructure projects. It consists of materials such as concrete, limestone, brick, asphalt, natural stone or gravel and sand. These materials, together with soils that are excavated during construction work, are among the largest waste streams in Germany, accounting for more than 50 % of total waste generation (see waste balance sheet of the Federal Statistical Office.
At the same time, the German demand for mineral raw materials for construction remains high at approx. 550 million tonnes per year. This can be seen in the monitoring reports of the specialist initiative Kreislaufwirtschaft Bau. Consistent recycling of construction and demolition waste is therefore an elementary component for the conservation of natural mineral raw materials and thus part of our social responsibility.
Whether uncontaminated or contaminated: REMEX ensures that mineral waste such as soil, or construction and demolition waste is collected separately on site and transported away efficiently. Integrated material flow management and nationwide logistical solutions lead to one of our processing plants. Our key strengths: local project management and the targeted avoidance of empty runs. REMEX not only takes care of the disposal of construction waste and the collection of soil on request, but in return also supplies its customers with high-quality recycled aggregates.
Mobile construction waste processing is an option, e.g. for large construction sites
Our mobile and semi-mobile systems for the processing of construction and demolition waste enable the on-site production of high-quality, reusable recycled aggregates, especially on large construction sites. The results are functioning material cycles on the construction site, which meet both ecological and economic requirements.
The reuse of recycled aggregates is carried out on the basis of applicable structural and environmental regulations. Compliance with these requirements is the basic prerequisite for a high reuse rate. This is where our branded remexit® recycled aggregates come into play. more
Main aggregates sizes and applications of our recycled aggregates
We have developed a special service concept under the name ts.recycling for road demolition waste contaminated with tar.
Road demolition waste or road rubble containing tar is considered a health hazard due to its PAH load. If road break-up occurs as part of road construction measures, this material must first be assessed for possible tar components before a decision can be made on further use. If the asphalt to be recycled is not or only lightly contaminated, it can be reused in road construction without any difficulty. If certain pollutant concentrations are exceeded, the material is classified as tar-contaminated road construction waste.
In principle, there are different disposal alternatives for this material. These include reuse in bound road construction layers, recovery or disposal at landfills and thermal treatment.
